For The Young & Those Who Think Young “An Alphabet Safari” A Sing-Along Video That Embraces Nature & The Animal Kingdom

May 22, 2004 -- The songs of Joe Raposo, Sesame Street’s award-winning song writer, are the backdrop for the joyful “An Alphabet Safari” (28 minutes, $19.95), as youngsters travel through the alphabet on their way to the zoo to visit their animal friends, encountering rare creatures and familiar and not-so-familiar animals along the way. With the accompanying, uplifting tunes, a feeling of magic is in the air, as the exciting adventure begins.

From the slithering Alligator to the zany Zebra, with more than twenty animals in between, “An Alphabet Safari” is a fun-filled, musical learning experience that exposes young people to the wonderful and sometimes unusual animal world, where the Cheetah, Elephant, Jackrabbit, Llama, Otter, Chinese River Turtle, Wallabee, Yak, and fifteen other animals and creatures amuse viewers with their antics. A Brazilian Tree Frog elicits laughter with his complaint, “it’s not easy bein’ green”, and the Silver Back Monkey swings to the Monkey Waltz.

Twenty-six letters of the alphabet are represented by Joe Raposo’s witty, award-winning songs and many original, newly-released musical pieces by PBS writer and composer, Nick Raposo, that will delight audiences and help familiarize young children with animal wildlife and the habits of the Butterfly, Peacock, Duck and Vulture.

Produced and written by Nick Raposo, in conjunction with the Wildlife Conservation Society/The Bronx Zoo, “An Alphabet Safari” is an informative and entertaining video; a vital experience for youngsters and for all who appreciate the wonders of nature.
